Ball head moisture meter

📊 Understanding humidity values

Understand your measured values in order to take targeted action. Values above 30 digits indicate capillary moisture.

🔬 How does your ball head measuring device work?

Capacitive measurement: The device measures the moisture 5-40 mm deep in the masonry without contact (depending on material density).

Digital values: The higher the Digits value, the more damp the wall.

Your measured value guide:

0-30
DRY
31-50
LIGHTLY FLAMMABLE
51-80
FIRE
80+
NASS

🎯 What your measured values mean

0-30 digits: Normal wall moisture. No need for action.
!
31-50 Digits: Act preventively. Early renovation saves costs and work.
51-80 Digits: Start Isofin renovation. Thermal insulation suffers, damage spreads.
🚨
80+ digits: Immediate Isofin + expert help! Acute danger to building fabric and health.

⚠️ Important measuring information for precise results

  • Calibration: NEVER hold the device against surfaces - always at least 100 mm away!
  • Hand position: Do not move or reposition your hand during the entire measurement
  • Corner clearance: At least 10 cm from corners, window frames or other interfering objects
  • Measure vertically: Always position the ball head at 90° to the wall surface
  • Temperature: Do not measure below -5 °C for wood (falsifies results)
  • Material: Homogeneous surfaces without air inclusions preferred

🤔 Preventive action from 30 digits

Values from 30 digits can be the first sign of moisture in the masonry. Early action can prevent greater damage in the long term.

🚨 Action is required from 50 digits

Measured values above 50 digits indicate increased moisture in the masonry. This destroys plaster and mortar, weakens the masonry and drives up heating costs. Mould can develop, which pollutes the indoor air and endangers health. At the same time, the risk of cracks, salt damage and a significant loss in property value increases. We recommend taking action and renovating your wall.

📋 Step-by-step guide: Measuring correctly

Follow these instructions to localize the source of moisture.

1

Switch on & calibrate the device

Switch on: Insert 3× AAA batteries, press the power button until the display lights up.
Calibrate the device: Press the MEAS button → "CAL" appears → Hold the device at least 100 mm away from all objects (not against the wall!). Calibration value must be below 0.3.

⚠️ Important: Do not change the hand position during the entire measurement!

2

📐 Set measuring grid

Measuring grid: Vertically every 30 cm (from 10 cm above the floor), horizontally every 50 cm.
Problem areas: Corners, window reveals every 30 cm.

💡 Tip: Use the online measurement log

3

📊 Measure & analyze values

Measure correctly: Press the ball head vertically, at least 10 cm away from edges/corners. Wait 2 seconds → Note the value or enter it in the online measurement log.

💡 Tip: Press the MEAS button again for HOLD mode (value remains saved for easier documentation).

Analyze values: Connect points of equal values:
- Floor sloping upwards = Rising humidity
- Center high, lower around it = local water ingress
